Amadeus To Issue Electronic Vouchers For National Car Rentals
Amadeus and National Car Rental have partnered to provide the first global electronic voucher system for car rental reservations, the companies announced today.
The paperless voucher system is similar to airline e-tickets and is designed to save time and money by eliminating the need to print or write vouchers. The car rental company notifies the car rental counters of the voucher number, so travelers do not have to bring a proof of reservation to the counter.
"With the E-Voucher for Cars solution, we demonstrate our commitment to making the booking process for all travelers much faster and easier," Jerry Dow, National Car Rental chief marketing officer, said in a prepared statement.
Amadeus first made available electronic vouchers for car rentals in 2004. Those vouchers, however, were available only on a country-by-country basis, through various small car rental companies.
