Advito, the consulting arm of TMC giant BCD Travel, today announced the launch of a global meetings management consulting service headed by George Odom, former leader of travel and corporate meetings for pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Co. Odom joined Advito earlier this year
(BTN, July 23).
The service seeks to help clients control and quantify their meetings management programs through benchmarking, spend and savings opportunity analysis. The program will be tailored to each client's individual needs.
Along with the service's launch, Advito released a white paper concentrating on the differences in meeting negotiations in Europe and North America that suggested that vast differences in the approach to meeting strategies on the two continents mean that meeting buyers need to change their approach accordingly, especially with regards to hotels.
The white paper includes a case study of pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, which consolidated meetings on both continents. It also features analysis from both Advito and from sister company BCD Meetings & Incentives.
