AMADEUS wants U.K. biz
David Jones, Amadeus senior marketing vice president, predicts the European Economic Community soon will allow CRSs to offer train schedules and ticketing. Meanwhile, Jones said he "is not yet fully happy" with the performance of Amadeus in the U.K. market. Against hometown favorite Galileo International, owned in part by British Airways, "we need a big customer, and I think we'll get one this year." Jones might be referring to American Express, which is considering consolidating with a single CRS for all of Europe. Amex said the decision to do that has not yet been made.
