A U.S. hotel developer and Indian lodging company are partnering to launch new full-service and select-service hotel brands in the United States and India next year with an eventual eye on global expansion.

John Russell, co-founder of NYLO Hotels and former CEO of the hotel division of Wyndham Worldwide, then Cendant Corp., is partnering with Chennai-based Auromatrix to form Advaya Hospitality. Names for the brands have not been announced.

The company aims to build 10 hotels in India in two years, beginning in the second quarter of 2011, and to create a fund for acquisitions in key U.S. cities. Additionally, it plans newly constructed properties in the United States of 60 to 155 rooms with meeting space and business centers.

Targeted U.S. cities include Atlanta, Miami, New York and Phoenix, and Indian cities include Chennai, Tuticorin, Kakinada, Vizag and Vellore. The company also is eyeing China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Brazil for future development.
