InterContinental Hotels Group on Friday added positions to
its sales and marketing team to oversee the design of the company's seven
brands and focus on performance and development in Australia and Asia.
Former Virgin Atlantic head of design Joe Ferry will join
IHG on Sept. 27 as the company's senior vice president of global guest
experience and design. Reporting directly to IHG chief marketing officer Tom Seddon,
Ferry will oversee the execution of the IHG brands and look for potential
innovation opportunities.
At Virgin Atlantic, Ferry helped create the carrier's brand
identity, including its interiors, uniforms, checkin areas and upper class
suites.
IHG also promoted David Anderson, the management head of its
Crowne Plaza brand, to vice president of brand delivery for Asia, Australasia
and global resorts. In the newly created, Singapore-based role, Anderson will
work to boost IHG's revenues in the region and develop a growth strategy for
the company's resorts globally.
"We are serious about developing a higher profile in
the resorts market," Seddon said in a statement. "David's IHG
experience gives him unique insight into the DNA of our brands, and we are
confident we will develop hotels in outstanding locations that we know our
guests will love."
