Carlson Hotels Taps Rezidor Exec To Oversee Brand Development
Carlson Hotels Worldwide has appointed a Rezidor Hotel Group executive to lead the growth and development of its five brands.
Gordon McKinnon on Sept. 1 began his role as executive vice president and chief branding officer, working out of Carlson's Minneapolis office and reporting to Carlson CEO Hubert Joly. McKinnon previously served as the executive vice president of brands for Brussels-based Rezidor, which operates Carlson's brands and in which Carlson is the main shareholder.
Prior to Rezidor, McKinnon helped to create and promote the Glasgow, Scotland-based Malmaison luxury hotel brand, first serving as a consultant and eventually joining the company full-time in 1999. "We look forward to drawing upon Gordon's extensive experience and unique skill set as we continue to enhance our hotel brands and market position," Joly said.
Carlson has a portfolio of more than 1,000 hotels in 75 countries under the Regent, Radisson, Park Plaza, Country Inns & Suites and Park Inn brands.
