The U.S. General Services Administration cancelled its annual Training and Expo conference due to federal budget reductions, as reported by Federal Times.
"As federal agencies are closely examining their budgets and making tough
spending cuts, GSA has made the decision to suspend this year's Expo," confirmed
a GSA spokesperson. "With less demand for attendance due to budget
constraints, we are adjusting to the needs of our agency partners." The
event had been scheduled for May 14 in Orlando. Federal travel may endure additional
cuts as automatic federal budget cuts are scheduled to take effect March 1.
