CWT Meetings & Events hired its first director of SMM solutions and analytics, former Maxvantage account manager Melissa Nahama. The meetings management arm of travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel tasked her with driving "CWT’s SMM Solutions work to support global expansion" and providing "leadership to the program management and data analytics teams." Nahama reports to Kari Wendel, CWT Meetings & Events senior director of strategic meetings management strategy and solutions. According to Wendel, CWT "saw a dramatic increase in requests for SMM design and deployment in 2012, with many organizations tackling meeting registration and venue sourcing. In 2013, we expect many additional companies to follow suit and anticipate that those who have already entered the SMM space to continue to expand their initiatives." Maxvantage is an alliance between CWT rival American Express Business Travel and Maritz Travel Co.
