National Adds Nine Cities To Toll Pass Program
December 16, 2008 - 12:00 AM ET
National Car Rental this week announced an expansion of its electronic toll payment system program into nine additional cities.
Having recently introduced its Toll Pass program in Newark, N.J., National on Tuesday said it is making the program available in Chicago; Houston; Boston; Baltimore; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Rochester, N.Y.; Syracuse, N.Y.; and New York City, including its locations at LaGuardia and JFK airports and six rental offices in Manhattan. Additionally, there are future plans for expansion into Dallas and states including Delaware, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Virginia.
Alamo Rent A Car customers also can use National's toll technology for a daily fee as well as the cost of tolls. Tolls are charged separately after the completion of the rental.
"We know from listening to our customers that they don't like fumbling for loose change and waiting in line at toll booths," National Car Rental president Greg Stubblefield said in a statement. "The added convenience of our Toll Pass option is one more way to let them know we're listening, as part of our ongoing focus on customer service."
An added bonus for corporate travelers is that the technology allows for toll payments to be processed through corporate cards, which can ease the expense reporting process.
