Hertz Global Holdings last week named longtime General Electric sales manager Robert J. Stuart to head the car rental company's global sales operations next year.
Stuart will join Hertz as senior vice president of global sales, the company announced Thursday. Stuart worked for GE since 2000, most recently as general manager of consumer lighting and electric distribution sales. He also worked in senior marketing in management roles at the Halex Co. and the Philips Lighting Co.
Part of Stuart's charge will be to increase Hertz's rental business with corporate customers, according to Hertz CEO Mark Frissora. "Bob has a 20-year track record of success leading sales and marketing strategies for well-known consumer brands in highly competitive, global markets," Frissora said in a statement. "As Hertz's global footprint continues to grow, Bob will help lead our efforts to be the car rental company of choice for all leisure, business and replacement customers worldwide."
