Enterprise Rent-A-Car today announced the appointment of Pamela Nicholson as the company's president. Nicholson also will continue her role as Enterprise's chief operating officer and as a member of the board of directors of Enterprise's parent company Crawford Group. Donald Ross, Nicholson's predecessor, will continue with the company as vice chairman.
Nicholson will oversee Enterprise's rental car and other transportation-related businesses, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car. Enterprise completed the purchase of Vanguard Car Rental, the parent company of National and Alamo, in August 2007
(BTNonline, Aug. 1, 2007).
Nicholson began her position today. "What I am focusing on today is the integration of our Alamo and National brands into Enterprise," she said, adding that she expects full integration within one year.
"Enterprise has a long tradition of developing our own managers and promoting from within," Andrew Taylor, Enterprise chairman and CEO, said in a prepared statement. "Our family is fortunate to have someone with Pam Nicholson's skills and experience to succeed Don Ross as the president of our company. Pam and Don have been members of our management team for 27 years and 43 years, respectively. Just as important, the two have worked together for more than 20 years, which will ensure a seamless transition."
Nicholson will be based in St. Louis.
