Avis launched a mobile app for Android smartphones

that enables users "to make real-time reservations for rentals at Avis neighborhood and airport locations throughout the United States and Canada." A company spokesman said negotiated corporate rates are available for booking through its mobile applications. With mobile apps launched for BlackBerry, iPhone and Microsoft Windows Phone 7 users, Avis claimed to be "the first in the industry to have applications on all four major mobile platforms."
