CWT Enhances Mobile Itinerary Access In Europe
Carlson Wagonlit Travel in several European markets this week launched a new service that gives travelers the capability to view itineraries on mobile phones and personal digital assistants in multiple e-mail formats. The service replaces text-based itineraries, which were designed for desktop computer viewing. CWT plans to roll out the service to additional markets, including Asia/Pacific and North America, in 2010.

The CWT Itinerary & E-Ticket launch follows a two-month testing period with clients in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, according to CWT global product director of traveler and transaction services Greégoire Lair.
Lair said that the service was first deployed in Europe because CWT's current itinerary formats there are primarily text-based and difficult to read on mobile devices. The updated itineraries now include both HTML and text formats for compatibility with more devices and operating systems.
New features include color-coded icons highlighting additional steps the traveler needs to complete a booking and ticket status updates and timelines. The itineraries now also show the relevant booking history for a trip, including recent cancellations and changes.
The upgraded itinerary service is available in Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.
